Musician - Bass Guitar and Double Bass
Barri Pearson, also known as Jimmy blazer and I moved to Austin from Dallas Tx in 2011. Jimmy graduated from Booker T. Washington HSPVA in 2010 and earned my bachelors degree in Music Performance for double Bass from Huston Tillotson University in May 2016.
Jimmy started serving at Texas Empowerment Academy in 2018 as the assistant band director and piano instructor and his ultimate goal is to teach students the fundamentals of learning an instrument while learning patience and self discipline. Jimmy would also like to expose each student to the opportunity of being able to make a living as a musician.
Jimmy started to pursue a career in music at the age of 15, but because of his talent and he was able to see the possibility of making a living with a career in music.
While working at Texas Empowerment Academy Jimmy has been able to learn new instruments such as the trumpet, trombone, and clarinet.
